Neptune's Profile

Lizard - Animal Adoption - Neptune

Description:

Neptune is a young adult female iguana about 25" long from snout to tail. Her former owner was told by a pet store that an iguana should be fed nothing but cactus!! As a result, she is stunted and arrived lethargic, hungry, needed help shedding, and had no muscle tissue on her legs. The good news is that since cactus is high in calcium, she doesn't have metabolic bone disease. For the past six weeks she has been on a healthy diet of proper iguana salad with "salad dressing" made from Critical Care for Herbivores and with a pinch of Rep-Cal powdered calcium and Herptivite vitamins and minerals twice a week. She also gets a minimum of 15 minutes of daily sunshine in an outdoor cage if the temperature is at least 55. She likes to poop in her water pan. This regimen has turned her into an active little gal that doesn't hesitate to try to bite and whip. Because of this, she should be adopted only by an experienced iguana handler and not be around children until she is tamed. Adoption fee-$30 There is a care sheet available for this animal. If you are interested in adopting this animal, please fill out an adoption application. Please contact Sue at (916) 486-4293 or SSueig@gmail.com if you are interested in this animal.
